How To Make A Power Tool Drag Racer

by admin on May 5, 2011

If you’re a power tool fan, you are most probably aware of the infamous Power Tool Drag Racing events held not only in the UK but across the globe.  To be honest, we think there is nothing more ingenious than transforming a power tool into a manly racing machine! All that is required is some tweaking and fine tuning of your power tool in order to get it ready for the 75ft track race.  If the prospect of being a winner in one of the following 5 categories doesn’t impress you, then maybe you could try out for a new Guinness world record, as most recently these events have been attracting officials from Guinness World Records to see if any new speed records are broken!

Winning Categories

  • Most impressive engineering
  • Most pathetic engineering
  • Most spectacular crash
  • Machine most likely to impress the girls
  • And of course, the ‘Silverline Award’ for the fastest top speed run of the event.

For all you newbies who fancy a go at a future Power Tool Drag Race event, we spotted this neat video by Bre Pettis showing you how to make a power tool drag racer!

If you have ever entered a race we would love to hear from you. Tell us how you did, what tool you used and if you went home with any prizes!
